The aim of this qualification is to train learners to a professionally competent level, enabling them to prescribe, plan and deliver safe and effective exercise programmes within a gym or health club environment.
This qualification provides progression to Level 3 qualifications in Personal Training for learners who wish to further their knowledge and skills and become personal trainers.
Learners will cover a range of topics including health and safety, principles of exercise, planning and instructing gym-based exercise, and anatomy and physiology.
Learners will undertake 157 hours of guided learning in order to successfully achieve the Level 2 in Fitness Instructing (Gym-based Exercise).
Assessment methods will include coursework, multiple choice examinations, practical assessment and a portfolio of evidence.
